The Team

All about the people that make Red Horse Products work!

We are a small family company based near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. Seeking to provide new solutions to age old equine problems and supply products that actually work. Most of our products were initially made by us, for problems our own or clients' horses have had. We manufactured a few pots of this and that for friends and clients - the demand was such that we have had to go into production! Details of each member of the team are below:

Sam Austin BHSII EDT Equine Dental Technician, Riding Instructor, Professional Rider. Sam Is Director of Red Horse and the creative mind behind the majority of Red Horse's products. Usually identifying problems and then using knowledge gained from his scientific education, his father (a Vet) and innumerable other sources to create a solution. Having had many years experience with barefoot horses including eventing up to BE Novice level with them has given him valuable insights into their needs, many products have been originally designed for the

Louise Austin BA (hons) BHS PT. PA to Kelly Marks, Groom to the world famous American Pie. Lou is Joint Director and a business and marketing genius . Her main role is to guide the development of Red Horse Products and to support her husband and fellow director Sam in his creative process. Lou spends her days in the Intelligent Horsemanship office, supporting Kelly, riding Pie and organising both Monty Roberts' and Kelly Marks' tours with extreme efficiency. Lou's nights are spent trying to persuade Sam not to work on the website until 2am in the morning, which she mostly fails at!

Anthony Austin BVetMed MRCVS. Tony is a retired vet, husband to Lee, father to Sam and father-in-law to Louise. Being extremely experienced in both animal treatments and pharmaceutical development and trialling makes Tony an extremely valuable member of the Red Horse Products team. He is also a great (if erratic) thinker and his innovative streak yet almost infuriating pragmatism keeps us inventing but on the straight and narrow at the same time. Tony is also responsible for honey production at Oak Farm as Sam, Lou and Lee make no secret of their dislike of bees and like to keep safe distance.

Lee Austin BA. Handles much of the packaging and distribution. Lee is also a keen rider helping Sam and Lou keep their horses fit when she isn't too busy managing a household of far too many men and being an R.D.A. riding instructor. As with everyone Lee also helps in the creative process, giving us ideas for at least 2 new products in developments so far. Lee is pictured here with Sam's ex-eventer and her hack, the 20 year old 'Badger' who, you may recognise as the logo of Red Horse Products. It has to be said the horses are also extremely valuable members of the team, being vital 'guinea pigs' for new products!
